Good evening, everyone!Â
As promised, here’s an update on this morning’s meeting with Green Lake Townships Zoning Administrator Jason Hamilton. We were joined by Township Assessor William Muha and Deputy Supervisor Roy Volkening. A huge thank you to Jason, William, and Roy for their time and willingness to collaborate—we truly appreciate the effort to move this project forward.
Here’s the big news: We have reached an agreement that De Food Truck will be able to open for the 2025 season on the far north lots of the property! This is a major step forward, and we’re excited to get things moving.
While some of the permitting processes for the larger Interlochen Depot project are extensive and won’t be completed in time for this season, we are not slowing down. Over the next year, we will continue working with the township, EGLE, and Grand Traverse County to begin transforming the property into a vibrant nature preserve and the south corner into a and community gathering space  — a key step in making Interlochen Depot a reality.
With the Land Use Permit now agreed upon, we can begin preparing for this season. While we’re starting on a smaller scale, this is still a huge win. We’ll have De Food Truck up and running, creating a welcoming space for great food, great company, and meaningful community connections.
As we move forward, we’ll keep you updated on both our progress for this season and our long-term vision for Interlochen Depot: a space built for the community, by the community.
Thank you all so much for your support, for standing with us, and for making your voices heard. We couldn’t have done this without you, and we can’t wait to welcome you at De Food Truck!
Stay tuned—we’ll see you all soon!
With great gratitude from all of us!
Have a wonderful evening.Â
